Due to systemic race and gender bias, Black girls have limited opportunities to have access to safe, youth-driven spaces to fully pursue their dreams and determine their own futures. BRIGHT (Black girls Revolutionise, Influence Globally, Heal, and Thrive) will provide platforms encouraging Black girls from Sub-Saharan Africa and the US to uplift their voices and strategize their own solutions. We use a girl youth-centered holistic lens in the design, and implementation of BRIGHT that takes into consideration race, gender, ethnicity, sexuality, ability, and cognitive processing among other key areas.

 

To make the initiative a reality, we are accepting donations on our GoFundMe to sponsor girls to be a part of the inaugural cohort of BRIGHT.
